In 1855, for the hunting purposes, a small wooden house was built near the forester's lodge on Przysłop (near Barania Góra - Barania mountain). However, due to the lack of sufficient places for the Austrian magnates, in the years 1897-98 a two-story wooden house called "hunting castle" was built.
During World War II, the shelter was also used by local partisan units. After the war, this facility, as a PTTK hostel, began to function fully in 1946.
In this form, the building served tourists until the 1970s, after which, in order to protect it from devastation, in 1985 it was moved to the center of Wisła, near the PKS bus station. Currently the headquarters of PTTK (polish tourist information).
